1. 100% Zero-Knowledge & No Data Collection

Periodus is built upon the fundamental principle of health autonomy: your reproductive health data belongs exclusively to you.

Unlike commercial period trackers that store, monetize, or profile users through central cloud servers, Periodus has zero central servers, zero tracking pixels, zero analytics SDKs, and zero telemetry. Playpixelpro cannot see, read, intercept, or sell your health records under any circumstance.

2. On-Device Storage & Local Vaults

All health records—including menstrual cycle dates, flow intensity, symptoms, moods, notes, sexual activity, contraceptive tracking, Basal Body Temperature (BBT) logs, and LH ovulation tests—are stored strictly on your local device:

  • Android & iOS Native: Encrypted SQLite database container within your device's sandboxed application storage.
  • Web Companion: Local IndexedDB database within your browser's private origin storage.

3. Client-Side Encrypted Backups (AES-256-GCM)

When you create a backup or configure cloud sync, encryption occurs client-side before any data leaves your device:

  • Encryption Standard: Authenticated AES-256-GCM with PBKDF2 or Argon2 key derivation.
  • Google Drive Integration: Backups write exclusively to your private Google Drive Application Data folder (appDataFolder). Other apps on your Google account cannot see these files, and Google cannot read the encrypted payload.
  • Stateless Relays: Optional Cloudflare Worker / R2 relays act purely as blind, stateless encrypted blob vaults without possessing decryption keys.

4. Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYOK) AI Assistant

Periodus includes an optional AI companion designed for medical literacy without compromising privacy:

  • User-Provided Credentials: You connect your own API key (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or local Ollama).
  • Hardware Key Storage: Credentials reside exclusively in Android Keystore / iOS Keychain.
  • Per-Message Consent: Periodus provides granular opt-in checkboxes for every individual prompt before any tracker context is attached.
  • Zero Cloud Logging: No conversation histories are stored on central servers.

5. Medical Disclaimer & Not Clinical Advice

Periodus is an educational and personal health tracking companion. It is NOT a medical device, nor does it provide clinical diagnosis, medical treatment, or contraception guarantees.

  • Contraceptive Warning: Algorithmic estimations and fertile window calculations should never be relied upon as foolproof contraception or guaranteed pregnancy prevention.
  • Professional Consultation: Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for diagnosis or management of reproductive health conditions (such as PCOS, endometriosis, or fertility treatments).

6. GNU AGPL-3.0 License & Lunara Lineage

Periodus is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0).

  • Hard Fork Attribution: Periodus is an independent hard fork of Lunara.
  • No Commercial Paywalls: All features are free forever. No subscriptions, in-app purchases, or locked tiers.
  • Trademark Disclaimer: Periodus is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Flo Health Inc., Clue, Apple, or Google.

7. User Encryption Passphrase Responsibility

Because Periodus operates on a strict zero-knowledge model, Playpixelpro does NOT hold master keys and CANNOT reset or recover forgotten backup passphrases or encryption keys. Users are solely responsible for securely storing their backup passwords and exported snapshot vaults.
